How to get 3x more content, without new ideas
A lesson in repurposing, reinventing and recycling - for less hustle and burnout in your social media marketing.
Creating content for your business can feel like a never-ending task. You put in the effort to brainstorm, write, design, and publish - but what happens after that? Too often, great content is left to gather digital dust, while you scramble to come up with new ideas… and the cycle starts again.
Here I come with the good news though - you don’t need to start from scratch every time. Instead, you can repurpose, reinvent, and recycle your content to make it go further. This not only saves you time but also ensures your most valuable insights reach a wider audience in different formats.
Here’s a step by step on how to get more out of your content — and get rid of the constant pressure to create something new. (cue the relief…)
1. Repurpose: change the format
Repurposing content means taking your existing ideas and presenting them in a new way. The core message remains the same, but the format changes to suit different platforms and audience preferences - also make sure to play to your (or your Marketer’s) strengths as the creator!
🔹 Turn a blog post into a carousel post for Instagram or LinkedIn.
🔹 Take the script from a video and turn it into a written caption (or a voiceover!)
🔹 Pull key insights from a long-form article and create a Threads post
🔹 Transform a podcast episode into an email newsletter or infographic.
Different people consume content in different ways, so repurposing allows you to reach a broader audience without doubling (or tripling) your workload.
2. Reinvent: expand and explore new angles
Reinventing content means digging deeper into a topic and exploring it from different perspectives. Instead of repeating the same points, you expand on the idea, break it down further, or add a fresh take.
🔹 If you wrote a listicle (e.g. ‘10 Ways to Improve Your Marketing’), take one point and write a detailed post about it.
🔹 If you shared a tip on social media, follow up with a case study or personal experience that illustrates it in action.
🔹 If you created a step-by-step guide, turn it into a video tutorial.
🔹 If you posted about a trend, update it with your latest insights or predictions.
Your audience might have already seen the original content, but by reinventing it, you provide new value and deeper understanding. Don’t forget that for each step in the step-by-step you can make each of the different formats - so really, it’s far more than 3x the content!
3. Recycle: share it again (you heard me!)
I know too many business owners who think they can’t repost content they’ve already shared. But the reality is, your audience doesn’t see everything you post— in fact, they see far less than you hope they do… And even the posts they see, they need reminding about.
Recycling means strategically resharing high-performing, evergreen content at regular intervals (e.g. every 6 months - don’t do it too often either!). This works especially well for:
🔹 How-to posts and tutorials
🔹 Lessons learned from experience
🔹 Tips, frameworks, and tools you regularly recommend
🔹 Big-picture ideas that reinforce your brand values
You can tweak the wording, update the examples, or simply repost as-is—either way, recycling ensures your best content keeps working for you long after you first hit publish.
This is also a fantastic way to strengthen the marketing that MATTERS, which is your website! Repeat visits to well-written blogs boost results and SEO, so why would you keep trying to write new and sparkly content every week or month, when your strongest asset may already sit there, from 8 months ago?

Why this works, and how to make it a habit
By using these three strategies, you can maximise the impact of every piece of content you create. Instead of constantly hustling for new ideas, you build a sustainable content strategy that saves time, reduces burnout, and keeps your marketing consistent. (tick, tick, tiiiiiiiiiick! That’s what I love)
